I hope the trial gets to the truth. Certainly, our news propagandists have lied to us so many times, just on this one case, I can’t believe a thing they print. NBC has admitted they doctored the 911 call to make Zimmerman look like a racist. The media even coined a new term "white" Hispanic in order to play the race card even more. Yet Zimmerman is not white. On his blog he describes his ethnicity as Latino / Hispanic. newsfeed.time.com/2012/04/07/nbc-producer-fired-over-zimmerman-911-call/

Zimmerman should have remained in his vehicle that night, and not followed Martin. However, following or confronting Martin was not against the law. You'll notice in the 911 call, the dispatcher said: "We don't need you to do that," obviously concerned about Zimmerman's safety. That is in no way "ordering" Zimmerman to stop. If we want to follow someone it's our choice, and it's in no way breaking the law. Carrying a gun was not against the law either. Zimmerman had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
According to Zimmerman, as he headed back to his vehicle, martin attacked him. Martin then knocked him down, said he was going to kill him, and pummelled his head into the ground. Several eye witnesses saw Martin on top of Zimmerman beating him, and heard Zimmerman screaming for help. Zimmerman also stated that Martin saw his gun and made a grab for it, and that he shot Martin in self defence, not meaning to kill him, of course.
Judging by Zimmerman's attitude during the 911 call, he was concerned that Martin would get away. He may have decided to keep Martin in his sights, so he could report his whereabouts to the police when they arrived on the scene. But something went terribly wrong when Martin confronted him. And we even have Martin's girlfriend's testimony that this is indeed what took place. The last thing she heard before their cell phone conversation ended was Martin asking Zimmerman: "Why are you following me?" To which Zimmerman replied: "What are you doing here?"
I can understand all the furore over this because it was such an utterly senseless tragedy. If only Zimmerman had stayed in his vehicle -- the police were there in five minutes -- Martin would still be alive today. What makes it even worse is that Martin was in no way the dangerous thief Zimmerman imagined him to be, and had every right to be in the neighbourhood -- he was living there!

. Martin was not blameless in this at all. Of course Martin was not blameless. He should never have attacked Zimmerman, and with such ferocity too.
