Lol, I bought my mum one of those. I had to calibrate it and I'm still trying to teach her how to use it. Grr. But, I see cars as one day being controlled by a GPS and all we'll have to do is sit in our car. Ahh, the future. Where people who rely on technology too much, rely on improved technology too much.

yeah just watch it some of them can get you killed. I had one a TomTom that we were using driving through the Nevada dessert with. It took us down the dirt road, at like 3am. Not a light for miles and miles. Something told us to stop the car and get out.... Glad we did the front tire was 15 feet from the edge of a 25 foot deep ravine!
Now, we won't travel at night unless we know EXACTLY where we are going and how to get there. That was far too close for comfort.

Wow, that just proves we shouldn't depend on technology too much.

I have a sony atm, it has not tried to kill us yet... But it is missing roads and will get you lost in a hurry. I mean it will eventualy get you home, just not in a timely fashion. Great if you never want to go the same way twice however.
But I much prefer the magellens, cost a ton more but worth it.

We have a Garmin. It is easy to use, and hasn't let us down yet. We have used it for cross country traveling. A relative of mine has both a Tom Tom and Garmin, and he suggested the Garmin as he claimed it was easier to use.
As road numbers and designations change, you can update them on your computer.
We haven't found the need yet.
