Not a rhetorical question, as I'm really asking for the advice and not offering one I liked what I've read on the Smashwords, but I remember reading somewhere that, even if publishing through the Smashwords, the writer would do better going to Kindle separately. I'm so new to this e-pubbing world Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not familiar with Smashwords, Zoe, but as far as Kindle is concerned there is no contract, so you're free to market and pub the story anywhere else you want. I'd suggest getting it up on as many sites as possible. And contrary to popular opinion, there are legitimate review sites that will review self-pubbed books, free of charge. Here are three of them. There are many more. www.coffeetimeromance.com/www.darkdivasreviews.com/www.onceuponaromance.net/

I just checked out Smashwords. Excellent. Will upload my Kindle titles there as well. Thanks for the input, Zoe. :-)

Sorry for the weird question, but what the review sites do? (I'm such a newbie to the e-publishing!) Thank you for the links, Lily! Btw, the link to the AW discussion was amazingly helpful!!!!!!! THANX!!!

The review sites are where you send your title for review. If they like it, a good review is a definite plus for marketing purposes. Let's put it this way: it sure can't do any harm. :-)

Smashwords is even faster than Kindle -- way faster! Kindle takes 24 to 48 hours to publish, Smashwords does it IMMEDIATELY! Wow. All publishing should be like that. :-)
