What do you guys think about writing contest that charge an entry fee, are they a scam ?

What do you guys think about writing contest that charge an entry fee, are they a scam ? I think there are a few yearly contests, usually between March and May, which are reputable, but do charge. If the cost is too high, don' t bother with it unless you think it is worth it. But everything costs. And I think it is reasonable to assume contests will pay at least a nominal fee to those who are judging/reading the entries. Always do research before you put your money down though. |
