Other than the posts that I made in the technical board, this is my first post with something I wrote. I wrote this last night and haven't really made any major changes or anything so it's pretty rough.

Jackson Savage awoke quickly with an undoubted impression that he was falling. His whole body twitched briskly as he gained his composure. Raising his head slightly, he remembered that he was sitting in his large lecture Philosophy class. Quiet snickers came from all around him. Embarrassed, Jackson just looked around and smiled awkwardly.
“Nothing like a little hypnic jerk in class to raise your already immense social acclaim on campus. You must get all the girls.” Christopher Dixon whispered from the seat next to him, rolling his eyes.
“As a matter of fact, I do. Cosmopolitan Magazine says that men with irregular sleep patterns are all the rage.”
“I'm sure. Hey man, let's get out of here, we aren't doing anything for the rest of the class anyway. Dr. Hesse's just been sitting at his desk reading his email for almost ten minutes.”
“Alright, let me pack up my shit.”
Jackson wiped his eyes with the sleeve of his shirt and looked at the clock on the wall. He slid his notes into his folder and zipped up his backpack. Professor Hesse sat in the corner of the room staring at his computer screen.
“Let's go.” Jackson nodded toward the door.
They both grabbed their backpacks and stood up quietly in unison. Jackson scratched his head and looked around the class. It seemed that everybody, including the teacher was looking at them. Nobody said anything as they walked across the row of seats to the middle of the classroom. They walked down the stairs nonchalantly looking at the floor.
“Going somewhere, gentleman?” Professor Hesse asked, looking up from his desk.
Christopher took the lead, “Yeah, it turns out that Jackson's little brother is locked out of the house and needs us to go unlock the door.”
“It sounds like a one person job to me. Why are you both going?”
“Well it's his brother, but it's my house. So we both need to go. His brother doesn't know me very well.”
“Mr. Savage, why is your brother at Mr. Dixon's house instead of his own?” The Professor asked. He didn't look agitated, just curious.
“Uhh, well you see... My parents are out of town for the weekend and I told my little brother to meet me at Christopher's house after school... His house is closer than mine.”
Professor Hesse sighed and waved his fingers, signaling them to leave. Christopher and Jackson hurried out of the classroom and started walking down the hallway of the Philosophy building.
“Man, that was close. Nice job with the stuttering back there. You really know how to handle yourself in high stress situations, don't you?” Christopher joked.
“Shut up, I didn't know what kind of crazy excuse you were going to come up with, alright? Why couldn't you have just said we needed to go to the library or something?”
“We're in college man, it doesn't matter why we leave. We're not in high school anymore, they can't give us detention or anything.”
“Then why didn't you make up a simpler excuse. You just contradicted yourself.”
“Who cares, let's go to the pit.”
Note: The Pit is probably going to refer to a place at school where students gather to smoke cigarettes and hang out.
