I know that agents are doing the math–at this point, given the contraction in the market, there isn’t enough money out there in traditional publishing to make all of you a living. If your sales dwindle to just foreign sales and a few traditional deals a year, you’re going to be hurting. You’ve peered into your crystal ball, you’ve looked at your fellow agents, and you know the truth: in the future, some of you are not going to be in business any longer."
