Oysters and chocolate are going out of business just like Ruthies Club. They were both class outfits that paid their writers. Maybe there's just too much smut on the net resulting in fierce competition for pubs and the survival of the most ruthless?

May I offer a rebuttal based upon empirical observation?

I never believed in the concept of "sex sells." Perhaps because I never bought any. Say what you want about bikers being predators, I slaked my lugubrious lusts the old fashioned way. That being the blue orbs and wry smile of a skirt-catcher. Others chased, I caught.

As for smut, you make it sound like a bad thing. Walk into my vicinity with nothing more than a velvet choker, spiked high heels and clear blueprint for the next few hours, and I'm a captive audience.

Poetry? Strawberries dipped in chocolate? Long Jacuzzi interludes?

*yawn* Not one of my willing participants asked for any of those accouterments or procedures. My phone number, yes. Toys, no.
