Haystack Rock
So much has changed since I loved you, even my love today for you only a new solitude that I hold my breath and rush toward like spray returning once again to a new yet dying tide
Knelt in a midnight nestle pressed against you once now recall a fluttering voice silenced by a mob of waves a sentinel moon making sense of all isolation, if only one raised one's eyes to see
Imagine a thunder in recreated waves, a rustle of skin upon skin So much has changed Eyes struggle no more against a tyranny of memory which forgave a cold night and its wet sand and my tongue's silent speech
Even my love for you no longer some watery desire expected forever to break against mute lunar stone.

I love the stack - I am afraid my ability to crit poetry is limited but after having some feedback from one story where none of my usual readers knew what a stack was I am pleased to see this

thanks for reading and commenting, charlotte. obviously this is a real location. never really reminded me of a haystack, but that's its name. found this pic online, it works w/the poem, i think. amazing coincidental pairing of moon and rock (rock and rock? lol). thanks again. john
