We now have 296 members and are fast approaching the 300 mark. There will be champagne all round when that happens. Cheers

Three new members to go before the party begins.

Eh, crowds of humanity are overrated.
I wouldn't mind if 50 people left. ;D

There goes the neighborhood.
Is there any kind of an acid test conducted for new members in their quest to deal with guys like me?
You write what you know, and I have no throttle control for my mouth.

That's funny, Chico. I'm sure everyone here finds you charming. My wife and I have our post-gym coffee at the B&N cafe' at East Towne in Madison, Wisconsin. We go there because firearms are welcomed. A few months ago I found out that I am a chapter in the orientation syllabus for newly hired baristas. I am not kidding.

Congrats Chico, you is the man! Came as quite a surprise. I usually wear my biker crap to the cafe' as it's the only clothes I have. As I waited at the counter for my latte' replete with dead frog, a new barista named Casey asked me if I was a member. I responded that I was. She told me I had been part of orientation. I thought she was kidding. I questioned (humorously) the cafe' manager, and she informed me that, yes, they felt it prudent to provide such training. Part of me is flattered. Keeping people off balance tips the power in your favor. But then, this is a place my wife and I go to relax. I mean, I even tip for service. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

Oh heck if you've got it flaunt it. Well, I do have my fears. The last time 300 people got together as a singular mind the Persians killed them. Granted, my IBM 386 here could define it's coaxial cable as a "narrow opening," and I look fantastic in bronze. But is this the kind of notoriety we want to attract? As for "fighting in the shade," just this morning Lily addressed me as 'dim.'
