"A charity for abuse victims is planning to burn copies of an erotic bestseller. Fifty Shades - a trilogy about a steamy romance between a businessman and a student - contains themes of sadism and masochism. Clare Phillipson, of Wearside Women in Need, said the theme was "vile" and urged women to drop off copies to her Washington office for a bonfire on 5 November." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-19354560

I can understand their anger, but I despise any burning of books, even if I hate said book.

If they buy it, they can burn it. One time in my life I actually did tear a book apart because I thought it was trash. I bought it, it was my right to do what I wanted with it.
As far a book burning, my opposition would be when it came to historical documents; books attributable to more than just the author(s), in relation to any society, regardless of their history.
