io9.com/5933750/holograms-could-be-giving-you-directions-at-the-airport-soonSorry, but I was born in the wrong era. Seriously! This is too much for me. Even the information age is too much. We have too much information available too quickly. I am a simple person and prefer more simple times. I just do not get into the virtual world. It is too impersonal for me. Guess I am a relic.

This is likely to be just as inefficient as the automated phone systems. A machine cannot take the place of a real live human. Customer service is becoming a thing of the past.

Talking of Customer Service, I was recently confronted with an automated system for a utility service that there was no way to get around. All I wanted to do was ask a quick question.... Then today, I phoned a department store and asked them if they'd do a merchandise check for me -- I don't want to go all the way there and find out they don't have what I want -- but although I spoke to a live person, she told me they were too busy. You know, all businesses can see is the profit motive, and how by cutting out customer service they can save a ton of money. They don't give a fig for their customers.

Wow, that's really something, in fact, it's mind boggling: New York to London, in just one hour!!! Heck, most of us can't get downtown in our own cities that quickly. :-)

This is pretty shocking. And at 2 billion a year, it's certainly not cheap.

This is much worse than anything Orwell imagined in his books. Yikes!

seattle.cbslocal.com/2012/08/25/scientists-successfully-hack-brain-to-obtain-private-data/"The scientists took an off-the-shelf Emotiv brain-computer interface, a device that costs around $299, which allows users to interact with their computers by thought. The scientists then sat their subjects in front of a computer screen and showed them images of banks, people, and PIN numbers. They then tracked the readings coming off of the brain, specifically the P300 signal."
