With my new novel The Circle of Light now available at Amazon.com in paperback ($13.99) and Kindle ($3.99) editions, I've decided to prime the merchandising pump and spread my superhero tale into a few hands for free.
I will soon announce a giveaway of ten paperback copies of The Circle of Light, a 310-page story of the death and rebirth for one long-time South Florida superhero team in 2012. The copies have not reached me yet, but when they do - I'll start the free promotion.
The announcement of the giveaway's beginning will be in a few days at my Weebly website (http://theanticelebrityjohnxgrey.weebly.com/), here and a few other message boards as I did last time with A Legacy of Blood. The one difference is there are only ten free copies to give away this time. With times and my assets getting tight and dwindling, I could only muster half as many free copies this time. So, if you love superhero fiction that isn't an illustrated comic book/graphic novel, such as George R. R. Martin's Wildcards, request your copy of The Circle of Light once the giveaway begins. Stay tuned, folks.

Well, sometimes I have taken my time enjoying certain novels, so it's perfectly understandable.

Well, folks, the books are now available for mailing. If interested, just e-mail my yahoo account starting on Saturday (tomorrow) and ask for a free copy of The Circle of Light.
johnxgrey@yahoo.com
Please just be sure to leave a name and mailing address (even if that address is only a P. O. Box) and I'll get it out to you as soon as possible.
I hope my non-illustrated comic book novel catches on with the superhero fans out there.

My Yahoo Mail account may have been hacked, so you might want to avoid writing me there for a copy. To be safe, please send the request to RoadRunner mail account or message me over on Facebook at Edwin Ray Haney's page there.
edhaney@roadrunner.com
Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know John. The Internet is getting scarier and scarier. My own gmail account was also hacked recently and had to be closed. Now, as a safety measure, I have a contact form, so my email address remains private.

Greg, did you send me an e-mail? I never received it at my roadrunner account. I'll check the spam filter. I couldn't find it. You may need to resend the request to edhaney@roadrunner.com.

Thanks so much for the kind offer, John, but I have so many books piling up that I just don't have time to read, it would be a waste. I do have a suggestion though. Why not send it to a hospital library? Patients are always looking for something new to read, and it would give you good exposure as well as being a good deed.

This must be pricey for you John, why not make the book available in ebook, and give that away instead?

I agree with jd.
Maybe you could give some e-books away, especially to book reviewers who accept them, and look for an independent book store in your area. Set up a book signing or something, doesn't have to be a big deal, and let them know you will be giving away some free copies. Maybe work a deal with the owner of the store to figure out how to get the most mileage for the giveaway for the both of you.

Thanks for the good advice, gentlemen and Lily. I guess e-books would be more economical. I'm just not a big fan of them (have the need to feel paper between the hands and fingers. I'll need to look into these avenues. I'm just not that great at self-promotion - one of my great weaknesses along with editing and proofreading.

I'll need to look into these avenues. I'm just not that great at self-promotion - one of my great weaknesses along with editing and proofreading. In the first 24 hours of my 5 day promotion, I had 750 downloads. Hopefully a fair portion of them will be people who have a little interest in the material, and not just the ones who are looking for anything they can find for free. That can turn into "word-of-mouth" advertisement. And possibly reviews. Either way, it doesn't really cost me anything. You might want to consider something like that.
