I agree, Richard, and talking about esteemed professions, another recent case saw a high-ranking Canadian Air-Force Officer murder two women and sexually assault several more. This guy was so prominent and well-thought of that he piloted cabinet ministers around, and the Queen when she visited Canada. There's a news video of him chatting to the Queen after the flight. OMG! This guy is a monster. Heck, who would ever have thought that she wouldn't be safe as houses? I think people like that who are in the upper echelons of society may feel they are entitled to commit murder, and that they'll get away with it. Scary thought.
