So I have been going over the work that have done with book 1 of my series and I have to say I don't LOVE IT. I want to... but I don't and if I don't that means no one else can either. To that end I found a friend ( hopefuly she will join us here ) that was willing to help me. I am far too long winded and the plot is muddled and burried behind extra "stuff" that just does not work well. It has got to the point where I'm hyper fixated on this "problem" and have not been able to write the rest. Needless to say I'm less than happy however... There is alight at the end of the long dark brain drain that is known as" The Guardians Series." I know that with the assistance; once the begining sticking point is cleaned up the rest will surely follow. It's all in my head, I just need to get it flowing again. Hope everyone else is doing well Hugs, ~Me~

Aww, BL, I know the feeling (sort of). My story is there in my mixed up brain, just can't seem to get started or get my flow on. =( I agree, I'm not on here much, but it seems like a ghost town lately. =(

None of the forums I visit have much activity right now, it's always like that at this time of year, the weather gets better and folks want to be outside not indoors on the puter.

Yeah that is true It does not help that I keep strange hrs either. But hey it works for me, after hubby goes to bed and the house is clean and I'm fresh from the shower is when I seem to work the best.

Night-time is the right time for me as well. I never even try to write during the day, my muse is not up to it.

OK well... The first two chapters are all shored up and I love them now. I'm sure thy could still use a little work however... After being asked for months by people on the various sites I frequent I posted the first chapter to a very large public forum, real time so it was not like posting here... think Chat on a scale of millions... Boy oh BOY was that a mistake! I literally have THOUSANDS of requests on facebook asking me to either send the person the book or where thy can buy it @ from places I have never even heard of! I'm glad the response was so positive but wow, I went from lowly housewife to sitting here having a stroke over night! I just don't even know where to start... Does anyone know how to set up an authors page on FB?? I'd really like to keep my writing and my personal life separate if for not other reason then my friends and family don't need to be bothered by a ton of mail as well! I asked for it they did not.

Have you considered using a pen name, BL? That would keep your writing world separate from your private one. I've used a pen name from day one. I don't really associate the real me with the books I write.

That's just it I do use a pen name lol. I honestly don't know how they found me? Oh well I guess there are worse things that can happen I did set up an authors page on facebook, hopefully anyone who wants info will go there and respect my privacy! I also tightened the requirements to mail/view my private profile... Now I just need to kick this writers block in the rear end ;D

I'm going through a bit of this, myself. In the summer I'm either out riding or writing late into the night. Frankly, my experience with creative writing forums has not been good.
I have found two members online who also have been serious about writing, and we share thoughts and corrections, but not in forums but in e-mails and phone calls.
The problem I have is trying to balance some portion of time with other writers (like you would do in a virtual writers' club) with actually working. I've not been successful in that.

Night-time is the right time for me as well. I never even try to write during the day, my muse is not up to it. I write at night as well. Also, I only write in the winter months. I'll edit through the rest of the year and promote as necessary, but daytime and daylight just don't keep me focused on writing. I take time off to plan my next story. I like to pursue different story lines and run them through my mind. If something stands out, I will log it for when I write. If people can actually write anytime, anywhere, I think they have an addiction. But good for them.

I tend to burn the midnight oil myself... I usually work my best after everyone is in bed and I don't have to worry about the phone ringing or the kids outside bothering me... I wish I could keep normal hours! But, oh well... I find that for every forum I'm a member of I have 1-2 people that I make fast friends with which is a lot of people so far as I am concerned.

I find most forums are non too friendly. There's usually a clique and newbies are treated badly.

I need to unwind before I can write and I need peace and quiet.
