There's always so much hype in the media about the Titanic, especially this year, which marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking. However, there's another passenger liner, the Empress of Ireland, which sank two years later, in 1914, with over 1,000 passengers killed. But we seldom hear about that one. I guess the Empress of Ireland just wasn't as glamorous as the Titanic.
