Boy are some writing forums odd and unfriendly. Look what I just got from one of them:
-----Original Message----- From: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 12/08/2011 11:04 PM To: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Account removed at xxxxx!
Dear Skyelar,
Unfortunately your registration at xxxxxxx did not meet our membership requirements. Therefore your registration was deleted.
Sorry, xxxxxxxxxxxxx
If they have "membership requirements" why aren't they posted on their site? You notice there is no explanation. Has anyone here had a similar experience?

Hi Skyelar and welcome to the forum. Sorry about your negative experience. We find it as puzzling as you do. In keeping with our privacy policies, we have removed the name of the forum that treated you this way. We hope you'll be happy with us. A new member here, has the same status as someone who has posted one thousand times. And that's how it should be.

Thanx Jack, likewise. I just got another email from the renegade forum. I've crossed out their name. "-----Original Message----- From: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 12/09/2011 03:31 PM To: "Full Name" xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Strangely enough, you share an IP with two other banned accounts. Once you've been banned, we don't let you just sign back up yet again. Go figure, huh?" Professional, aren't they and not a bit paranoid. OMG! I zapped them back this. That's not possible. You must mean an ISP. So yes, I'm sure I do share the same ISP with banned accounts and many others. Some ISPs, such as Verizon, have literally millions of subscribers. news.slashdot.org/story/10/11/15/0310217/wikipedia-could-block-67-million-verizon-customers

Welcome Skyelar. I think the reason newbies get treated like crap on certain other forums is because the long time members are "donating." That doesn't make for an even playng field. Forums shouldn't ask there members for handouts.

Welcome Skyelar. I think the reason newbies get treated like crap on certain other forums is because the long time members are "donating." That doesn't make for an even playng field. Forums shouldn't ask there members for handouts. Agreed! It's the so-called "senior" members who are nasty and rude and bait newcomers. I think it's all down to the administration. If it's nasty then it will condone nastiness in its members. The upshot is, all the nice people leave and only the nasty ones remain. This explains what happened on the forum that many of us here once belonged to. It's now almost defunct, thanks to the rude few who got to rule the roost. It once earned an "excellent" rating on Preditors and Editors, now it is rated as "inactive." As ye sow...
