Did some more checking. That High River address belongs to Lorac Management. So does the phone number. They're like a post office box service. For $40 a month you can use their address, and they'll forward on your mail etcetera. It looks like Ellen is trying to hide who she really is and where she really lives. A group of discontented CB authors are going to hire a private investigator to check out Ellen. I'll keep you posted. Hey Ellen, why didn't you just let unhappy authors go? What have you gained by hanging onto their books?

Just a quick recap on this, guys. My friend's lawyer says the contract with Champagne is null and void on account of an unacceptably long waiting period to get the book uploaded to Amazon, and the fact that other unhappy Champagne authors have been released from their contracts. He also didn't like the invidious roll-over clause for release or renewal. In any case, the book in dispute has been offered a contract by one of the majors, and their lawyers will be handling the details. I'll keep you posted.

It sure pays to be nice when you're running a business. If a publisher treats his authors fairly, they'll never encounter a rebellion such as this. Ellen only has herself to blame. Now when someone does a search on CB, this site and the others will pop up.
