Yeah, Amazon is kind of like Walmart. The are actually a very shrewd business.
I understand the complaints about the monopolization tactics they use, but, it is like any other big business. They just happened to seize on something that your average citizen doesn't even pay much attention to because they are not affected by it in any day to day way.
Some of this fault can rest with the writing industry itself. They have become so difficult and predatory that it opens the way to alternative formats.
I have no sympathy for them.

If anyone deserved Amazon it was the "traditional" publishing industry. One is as bad as the other. And welcome Carolyn, great to have you here.
