What Religions Don't Want You to Know...An Expose' of Belief Systems What Religions Don't Want You to Know is not an attempt to drive anyone away from his or her belief in God. However, this book is an indictment against religion itself; that is, breaking the false premise that religion is a necessary medium required to have a relationship with God. The book examines the historical record and behavior of certain well known religions who have perpetrated atrocities in the name of God, and considers a common thread inherent among all religions and denominations, i.e., control and manipulation over their adherents. While much of the information focuses on the exposure of fallacies in religion, and secularized philosophies, direction and information is provided for the purpose of promoting informed self-determination. www.amazon.com/Religions-Know-Expose-Belief-Systems/dp/1463607229/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310935782&sr=8-1www.religionvsthebible.com/Thank you for letting me post this.

Wow Richard, sounds very interesting! I like the cover too. Just curious what your experience is in writing something like this? I find the subject very interesting and wondered if you were a professor/teacher. Congratulations!

Thank you both.
I have no special credentials. I quote information from those who do, but the rest is to show that the average laymen can find these things out for themselves. Doesn't matter if it is related to religion, or secular theologies.
It is just a matter of effort.

Even though it says the release date was 7-10-11, it has only been available for about 4 days on Amazon. I haven't done any marketing yet, but I did sell my first book today.
Woohoo!
I'm going to eventually put out an ebook version and price it as inexpensively as I can.
Not looking to get rich, just get the product out as I of course believe in it.

Congratulations, Richard. Fait accompli. :-) And in regards to promotion, have you thought of sending these links to your local newspaper? If they ran a piece about you, it could boost sales. People have to know about the book before they can buy it. Good luck.

I'm not the most motivated person in that area.

I know what you mean, Richard. I dislike pushing my books also. Blowing one's own horn, so to speak. Still, if we don't jump on that particular bandwagon we'll be left behind. How about if you got someone else to contact the media about your book? That might offer you a certain comfort zone. ;D

Agree that it's a little awkward to blow your own horn, but also agree that we probably have not much choice but to do it, and do it energetically enough

Do you have a website or blog, Richard? An author really needs one today.

Consider getting small colourful cards printed up about your book. And while you are "pounding the pavement" stick them up on bulletin boards in supermarkets, laundromats, community centres, etc. etc. The more exposure the better.

I was thinking about book markers...leaving them at libraries and bookstores...and oddity stores if they allow me.
