I had a bit of a problem finding my way in here, but thankfully figured it out.
I'm from Madison, Wisconsin, and I'm about half-way through my arc of the rough draft. Over the past few weeks I hit a bit of a snag, but then, the weather here is getting warmer offering more diversions. I hope to be back on track soon.
Your forum was recommended to me, and I hope to settle in.

Welcome thetourist.
I'm currently halfway through the second rewrite of my latest novel myself. A bit slower going as I am waiting for my associate to finish with their suggestions and input before submitting to my editor.
Funny you mention the distractions of nice weather. I find myself writing more in the winter months; not so much in summer. I also like to write in the dark as opposed to daytime, so I guess that has something to do with it.
Look forward to your participation here.

I can't settle to write during the good weather either. Want to be out there enjoying.

Well, I figured it out once (or twice), and left promotions for my books. I have a new book coming out tomorrow, but dang if I can figure it out this time. I have to be honest; this site is not user-friendly, at least to me.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties with the forum. We're always interested in improving the site, and are open to any suggestions from our members. Upcoming releases belong on the Promotions board, but there's no problem with those posted elsewhere, they can be moved easily, so no cause for concern. And I couldn't add your book to the carousel, as it doesn't have a cover on Amazon. Looking forward to hearing all about your latest book.

Thanks for responding. Both the books I posted now have covers on Amazon. They are Inspector of the Cross and The Blue of Her Hair, the Gold of Her Eyes.
I will try to use the Promotions tab again. It just didn't work before.

Thanks, John. I've added both books to the carousel. I must say I do like the covers.

Thanks, Lily. I've learned my lesson. I won't post an announcement of a book until the cover's on Amazon.

Lily, how do you post to Promotions? What do you click on? I've tried just about every link I could find.

Hi John, go to the Home page, click on Promotions, which is the 7th board down, then select "new thread" from the upper right hand corner. If you have any more problems getting onto that board, post your message anywhere, and I'll transfer it over to the Promotions board. Sorry about the difficulties. I know how vexing that sort of thing can be.

I've been doing a bit of housekeeping today: amalgamating some of the boards and streamlining. Hopefully that will make everything that much clearer. Clutter does build up after a while.
