Now that Caretakers of Eternity is finished and published, the truth is, I don’t think I’ll write another novel. Caretakers exorcised all my ghosts, and my life has changed for the better since the events that are symbolized in the novel took place.
There’s nothing left for me to write. I think I’ll spend my time reviewing novels and writing poetry. If the odd short story takes me, perhaps I’ll write it.
I don’t know whether to feel happy or sad.

Whether you choose to or not, it is up to you. But, I wouldn't "write" it off just yet.
Writing can certainly be a catharsis, as it seems to have been for you.
Give it time. I think aside from an emotional release in some instances, writers sometimes also go through what I think of as "postpartum" like symptoms after they complete a work.
All kinds of thoughts, feelings, and emotions develop.
Take a break, and see what happens. Writing is also an addiction. Once you're away from it too long, you get the itch to begin anew.
Congratulations, BTW.

What you say makes a lot of sense. Thanks, Richard. It's really something I need to think about.

Richard's right, there's an inevitable anti-climax after a book is finally finished. I haven't written anything myself, except for a few shorts, in eighteen months. I'm not sure if I'll ever write another novel. I think I've just about got everything out there I had to say. But I'm not ruling it out entirely. Congratulations once again on your book, Edward.

I kind of know how you feel. I wrote a series of fanfiction some years ago, it was a trilogy, and after that I just feel empty. It's like I've told all I have to tell. I haven't been able to write something decent in at least 3 years. If not more.
Oh and congrats on your book Edward It looks like it could be a good one *gets on amazon to check it out*

Congratulations on publishing your novel! It sounds like a very good interesting book. I truly hope you reconsider the thought that you will never write another novel. Your novel has a very intriguing plot to it that I would love to see more books like that out there to be bought, for I believe that a lot of mediocre books with okay storylines are currently being published. The publishing world is similar to the movie box office: make it (book, movie, or whatever) good and they will come.

Well, I wish you well in whatever endeavor comes your way. And congrats on the published novel. I, for one, am intrigued by the plot. Will definitely check it out.

Aw sure you will, we all feel like that at time. You've got talent, it would be a shame to waste it.
